Home Lockouts
Front door slammed behind you, deadbolt thrown from inside, keys on the kitchen counter. We pick or bypass the lock in most cases without drilling; when a lock does have to be drilled we tell you first and replace it on the spot. Have a photo ID with the address ready, or a piece of mail, a lease, or a neighbor who can vouch for you. Why we ask is explained below.
Car Lockouts
Keys locked inside, in the trunk, or in a truck-bed toolbox at a job site. We open it with wedges and reach tools that don't scratch paint or bend frames: in the mall lot off Via Rancho Parkway, at a Kit Carson Park trailhead, at the Dixon Lake or Lake Wohlford lots, at the Transit Center, or in an apartment carport off Escondido Boulevard. If the key is lost rather than locked inside, that's a different job: we can make one at the car.
Business Lockouts
Storefront on Grand Avenue, office suite, the back door of a restaurant on Valley Parkway. We open commercial doors and storefront deadlatches too, with authorization: the owner, a manager on file, or a call to the business's listed number.
What It Costs and How Long It Takes
We quote the price on the phone before we roll, and it is the price you pay unless the job turns out different than described (a high-security lock instead of a Kwikset, for instance), in which case we tell you before continuing. Home lockouts run $85 to $145, car $95 to $145, business $105 to $175, trip included. After 8pm and before 8:30am there is a $50 after-hours surcharge, and we say so on the phone. Time to arrive depends on where you are. The van works out of central Escondido near the I-15 and SR-78 crossing, and most city addresses are a short run up Centre City Parkway or out Valley Parkway or Bear Valley Parkway. Hidden Meadows, San Pasqual and Del Dios take longer; tell us the gate code or the turn-off and we give you an honest window.

Before we open anything, the tech shows a California BSIS pocket license and asks for yours: photo ID with the address, or ID plus something that ties you to the place (mail, a lease, a car registration in your name, a neighbor or landlord who can confirm). It takes a minute, and it is the reason you can trust that a locksmith would never open your door for someone else.
After You're Back In
If the key was lost rather than left inside, the lock now has a key out in the world. Rekeying that door right then costs a lot less than a second trip, and the pinning kit is already out. Lost the only car key? We make those at the car too. Just ask.
